How Taxcc uses AI — quietly, everywhere
When software companies talk about "AI features", they usually mean a button with a rainbow gradient and a magic wand icon. That's not our approach.
At Taxcc, AI is laced through the product rather than bolted on — subtle, practical, and built to make your day smoother without you having to think about it. And one rule applies everywhere: every suggestion is a draft. A human approves everything. Nothing is filed, posted or sent by AI on its own.
Where AI quietly lends a hand
Building workflows
Create a workflow — say "Onboard new client" — and sensible steps are drafted from the title alone: AML checks, prior-year records, kickoff call. Edit, untick or rearrange them; you are never starting from a blank page.
Client record → Workflows & tasks → type a title.
Fees and pricing factors
Pick a client\u2019s services during onboarding and Taxcc suggests fees — plus pricing factors like record-keeping quality, software package and transaction volume, each with adjustment bands and a rationale. Apply them with one click, or ignore them entirely.
Onboarding wizard → Fees → "Suggest fees & pricing factors".
Engagement letters and proposals
Instead of writing proposal wording from scratch, Taxcc drafts the intro, a per-service scope schedule and a terms summary for the client in front of you — matched to their entity type and services.
Onboarding wizard → Engagement → "AI-draft proposal wording".
The copilot
Ask which clients have a confirmation statement due next month, or what is blocking a VAT return. Answers are grounded in your practice data, scoped to your tenant, and always draft-only.
Available on every page of the app.
Companies House auto-fill
Type a client name and the company profile, officers, PSCs and statutory deadlines arrive on their own — no rekeying.
Onboarding wizard → Company step.
Document understanding
Portal uploads are matched to outstanding document requests automatically, so a chase closes itself the moment the client responds.
Client portal → document requests.
Your context, your suggestions
In AI settings you tell Taxcc whether you are an accountancy practice, a bookkeeper or a tax advisory firm — and anything else that matters ("40-client rural practice, mostly sole traders"). Every suggestion is tailored to that context.
Your model, your data routing
Expert users can route all AI activity through their own OpenRouter account: choose exactly which models are used and where your data goes. Your key is stored encrypted and never shown again. No key configured? Built-in suggestions still work — the product never goes blank.
The guardrails, in plain English
Human approval required
AI drafts; you decide. It cannot file with HMRC or Companies House, submit payroll, post journals, take payments or send anything to a client without you approving it.
Tenant-scoped
Suggestions only ever see your practice\u2019s data. Client context is capped, filtered by tenant, and enforced at the database layer with row-level security.
Audited
Every AI suggestion and copilot exchange is written to your practice audit trail — what was asked, which mode answered, and when.
Honest about its limits
If the AI provider is down or unconfigured, Taxcc says so and falls back to sensible built-in templates rather than guessing silently.
See it lend a hand on your own clients
Free trial, no card. Onboard one client and watch the steps, fees and letter draft themselves — then change whatever you like.
